Higher Education in Japan..
Higher education in Japan has expanded remarkably over the last couple of years because of the significant rise of private educational institutes of the country and also because of the initiative of the ministry of education, Japan. Universities, Junior Colleges, Colleges of technologies and specialized training Colleges constitute the institutes of higher education in Japan.
The government of Japan is taking various measures to improve accessibility, relevance and quality of higher education in Japan. While the scholarship Foundation of Japan provides various loan facilities to the meritorious students of economically weaker sections of the society, it provides subsidies private institutes of higher education in Japan. In order to improve the competitiveness of the govt. universities the govt. is also considering of giving them corporate status.
At present, the number of international students are increasing day by day. Many Bangladeshi students also show keen interest to go to Japan for accomplishing their higher education.

System of Higher Education.
In Japan, there are five types of higher education institutes that foreign students can enter. These are:
1) Universities (Graduate course) 2) Universities (undergraduate course) 3) College of technology 4) Professional training schools 5) Japanese studies
The length of study for most undergraduate departments is four years. But for medicine, dentistry and veterinary science, it is six years. Master's course lasts for two years. Doctorate course lasts for three years. But for medicine, dentistry and veterinary science, the course lasts for four years.
Academic year in Educational Institutions .
The academic year at higher educational institutes in Japan begins in April. It finishes in March of the next year. Academic year is divided into two semesters in most cases. First semester lasts from April to September and the second from October to March.
Admission Requirements for Study in Japan -
Following are the eligibility criteria for study in japan for MBA, Engineering, Bachelors, Masters and Phd programs for getting admission into japanese universities:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :-
For a Bachelor’s degree a student should complete undergraduate studies for at least 4 years. For medicine, dentistry and veterinary science there should be completion of 6 years of study. For a Master's degree a student should complete 2 years or the required number of years for research courses of the selected specialization. Also, a Master’s thesis which is judged satisfactorily has to be done.
For a Ph. D a student must complete 5 years of graduation. Also, the student must write a doctoral thesis that is judged satisfactorily and pass an examination. For an Associate’s degree a student must graduate from junior college for 2 years or 3 years or from a college of technology for 5 years.
For a Technical Associate degree a student should be a graduate of post secondary courses of special training colleges that have been accredited by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and have fulfilled necessary requirements, such as minimum course attendance of least 2 years and a total of at least 1,700 hours of instruction, then these students can call themselves "qualified specialists."
APPLICATION PROCESS:-
